AUSTIN, TX – OnRamp, a leading high security and hybrid hosting services provider headquartered in Austin, Texas, announced today that Marketing Communications Coordinator Joshua Berman has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Health Information Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) Austin Chapter.

HIMSS—a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology (IT)—has 54 chapters across the United States including Puerto Rico, Canada, and India. The Austin Chapter has a membership of over 500 healthcare and IT professionals.

Responsible for establishing OnRamp’s involvement with HIMSS, both on a national and local level, Berman was elected as Secretary for the 2014-2015 term based on his long-standing commitment to the Austin Chapter. As Secretary, Berman will be responsible for coordinating board meetings, representing the group at chapter meetings and events, and participating in activities to promote group awareness and participation. Serving as a trusted advisor on the board, Berman will leverage his years of experience in the IT industry, producing and executing integrated marketing communications strategies designed to reach IT professionals in the technology, healthcare, and financial sectors to assist the group in furthering its goals.

The mission of HIMSS is “to lead change in the healthcare information and management systems field through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation, and community affiliations.” Austin’s HIMSS Chapter was established in September of 2004 to promote this mission and unite Austin’s leading healthcare professionals from a variety of backgrounds.
