Web Hosting ForumHouston, TX – cPanel, a leading provider in Linux and Windows automation, formally announced its official partnership with CloudLinux and will offer direct distribution of the software to cPanel Partner NOCs and customers.

The partnership will be structured to provide on-demand licenses that are synchronized with the current cPanel license model, allowing Partner NOCs and direct customers to have pay-per-usage software delivery. Owners will also be able to provide higher availability and increased density through controlling resources and CloudLinux technology.

What makes CloudLinux so attractive to hosting providers is its core technology, Lightweight Virtual Environment™(LVE), which is a kernel-level technology that limits the amount of resources (CPU, memory) available to a group of processes. With LVE, administrators have the tools to control the CPU demands of individual tenants, so that a single site cannot slow or take down an entire server.

While similar in approach to container virtualization, LVE is lightweight and transparent.  The LVE level fair-share CPU scheduler makes sure that each account gets enough CPU resources to run efficiently. This innovative CloudLinux technology offers service providers increased control as never realized before with traditional OS.

CloudLinux is one of the first official partnerships that cPanel has entered into.

cPanel Vice President of Operations Aaron Phillips said that CloudLinux is a natural fit for cPanel’s long-term goals because they share a matching vision of providing great support, useful technology, and respect for the hosting industry.

“After careful consideration, testing, and a review of features and benefits, we feel CloudLinux offers a unique opportunity for web hosting companies to increase uptime, stability, and performance on their servers,” Phillips said.

CloudLinux provides many benefits to cPanel & WHM users including:
– Innovative, lightweight, and transparent LVE technology that increases server stability and performance
– Decreased downtime
– The ability to allocate resources to individual server tenants efficiently
– Increased control over traditional OS
– Complete, 24/7 support
– Easy deployment and management
